BAKER, Judge.

Aundra N. Jenkins (claimant) appeals the decision of the Workers’ Compensation Commission (commission) denying him benefits under the Workers’ Compensation Act (Act). He contends the commission erred in holding that Ford Motor Company (employer) was not equitably estopped from asserting the statute of limitations under Code § 65.2-601 to bar his claim for benefits. On cross appeal, employer contends no credible evidence supports the commission’s finding that employer recognized claimant’s claim as compensable before the statute of limitations had expired.
