This is an action to recover damages for an alleged libel. E. H. Neal, of Indianapolis, Ind., addressed a letter to the Altoona State Bank asking for information concerning the Altoona Portland Cement Company and its officers. The letter stated that the company was bidding for investors. Responding to this inquiry the appellee, who was president of the bank, wrote a letter to Mr. Neal, in which it was stated that the cement company had been characterized as.a paper concern by the state bank examiner; that none of its stock had been placed…
