¶1 The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act1 (SCRA or Act) entitles a member of the United States armed services to a mandatory stay of court proceedings in circumstances where the servicemember is precluded from participating in such proceedings due to active military duty. However, in order to be entitled to such a stay, the servicemember must present to the court certain statutorily specified information regarding his or her military duty.
