1Opinion of the CourtDuggan, J.

The defendant, Gordon Pittsley, Jr., appeals a Nashua District Court (Bamberger, J.) order granting a petition for a restraining order filed by the plaintiff, Beth Fichtner. The defendant argues the court erred in: (1) awarding custody of the parties’ minor child to the plaintiff; (2) finding that the plaintiff was abused within the meaning of RSA chapter 173-B (Supp. 2000); and (8) admitting into evidence a copy of an e-mail message purportedly sent by the parties’ minor child to the plaintiff. We affirm in part and vacate in part.
