For the reasons outlined infra, the court holds that the respondent is a dangerous sex offender requiring confinement pursuant to Mental Hygiene Law § 10.07 (f).

Procedural Background

On July 1, 2014, Mr. F. admitted in a plea that he is a detained sex offender who suffers from a mental abnormality under article 10 of the Mental Hygiene Law (the Sex Offender Management and Treatment Act or SOMTA).
