MAXWELL, J., for the Court:

¶ 1. A jury in the Circuit Court of Forrest County found Shauntell Summerall guilty of possession of a dirk knife by a convicted felon, in violation of Mississippi Code Annotated section 97-37-5 (Supp. 2009). The circuit court sentenced him to ten years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
