CONERY, Judge.

hThe trial court found in favor of William and Jacqueline Berard (the Berards) *764and against the St. Martin Parish Government and its insurer, Ace American Insurance Company (collectively, St. Martin Parish), and awarded treble damages, costs, and attorney fees for the destruction of three live oaks and seven pecan trees during the clearing of a drainage channel located in St. Martin Parish. For the following reasons, we affirm the damage award of $37,790.00 for the loss of the trees and damage to the Berards’ property, plus trial court costs of $1,300.00, but we reverse the award…
