The specific question which we are called on to decide in this case, is whether the appellant, The United States German Rank of Baltimore City can, under its charter, recover upon a promissory note, which it has procured by discounting.
This corporation was made such by certificate executed and acknowledged, certified by a Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, and recorded under the provisions of Article 26 of the Code of Public General Laws as enacted by Act of 1868, ch. 471.
