This is an action in bastardy which now comes before the court on the defendant’s motion for a new trial. The plaintiff, Frances Crawford, filed her action on January *20723, 1959, alleging that she was unmarried and pregnant with a bastard child and that the defendant, Columbus Hasberry, was the father of the child. The preliminary examination was had on April 15, 1959, at which time the defendant entered a plea of “Not Guilty.” The plaintiff’s child was born on June 5, 1959.
