An information filed in the municipal court of Chicago on February 13, 1946 charged that Robert Ocampo on February 11,1946 did “then and there unlawfully, wilfully and maliciously, steal, take, and carry away the personal goods and property of Man-rice E. Miller, to wit: Eighty cents — (50(5-25(5-05(5) U. S. Currency, in violation of Sec. 387, chapter 38, contrary to the form of the Statute in such case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of the People of the State of Illinois.” On the same day the defendant was arraigned, pleaded not guilty, and waived a trial by jury.
