Plaintiff, a foreign corporation, seeks review in this court of a determination by defendant Director, Division of Taxation, that plaintiff was subject to tax under the New Jersey Corporation Business Tax Act, N.J.S.A. 54:10A-1 et seq., (“act”) for the years 1961 to 1976, inclusive.

The act imposes a franchise or privilege tax upon every domestic and foreign corporation... for the privilege of having or exercising its corporate franchise in this State, or for the privilege of doing business, employing or owning capital or property, or maintaining an office, in this State....…
