Claimant, Stephen Hudson, brought an action under the Workers’ Compensation Act (Act) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 48, par. 138.1 et seq.) seeking to recover temporary total disability benefits and medical expenses for injuries which he sustained while employed by respondent, E.L. Kaplan Trucking Company. Following a proceeding pursuant to section 19(b — 1) of the Act, the arbitrator awarded claimant temporary total disability benefits in the sum or $158.87 per week for a period of 343/7 weeks and medical expenses in the sum of $315.
