This is a writ of certiorari to review the decision of the Allegan county circuit court in dismissing a petition for mandamus. On July 16, 1907, relator filed a petition against Allen L. Whitbeck, sheriff, the object of which was to obtain a writ of mandamus to compel the sheriff to relieve the relator from solitary confinement, in which he claimed he had been placed; to permit relator to have reasonable exercise; to allow relator to have the daily papers furnished by his relatives; to permit relator to receive his wife and other relatives and friends at said jail; all of which he claimed was…
