Following a jury trial, Gregory Evans was convicted of burglary and giving a false name to law enforcement. He now appeals from the trial court’s denial of his motion for a new trial, asserting that the trial court erred in: (i) allowing him to represent himself at trial; and (ii) allowing impermissible testimony regarding his character. Evans further alleges that his trial was tainted by prosecutorial misconduct, and that the trial court erred in failing to intervene when the State engaged in such misconduct.
