A. S. Mitchell and his wife sued Union Bag and Paper Corporation in the federal district court expressly “in trover” to recover damages in the sum of $100,000 for the conversion of timber itemized as:(1) 129,791 board feet from 1,332 long leaf and slash pine trees with two or more turpentine faces suitable for sawmill purposes ;(2) 614,714 board feet from 12,020 short leaf and black pine trees; suitable for sawmill purposes;(3) 200,400 board feet from 6,680 short leaf and black pine trees too small for sawmill purposes but suitable for other lumbering purposes;…
