In its aim, its principles, and its results, this is a novel and intensely interesting litigation.
Alfred Shelby was the first, and Robert J. Breckinridge the last, husband of Virginia Hart, who died on the 8th of May, 1859, while she waff Breckinridge’s wife. She had carefully preserved, a! large number of friendly and *482confidential letters, which she had received during her girlhood, widowhood, and wedded life. And, as proved by an answer to interrogatories, made testimony by the Code of Practice, she had, on her death-bed, given and delivered…
