It will be helpful to a correct understanding of the question raised by the exceptions, to state who the parties to the controversy are, and how the question arises.

Testator gave his residuary estate in trust to pay the net income therefrom to his widow, during her life, and at her death “to set apart and invest in good legal securities sufficient of the corpus of my said estate to yield an income of twenty dollars per week, to collect the income of such investments and to pay said income to or for the support and maintenance of my daughter, Annie E.
