The plaintiffs on May 4, 1926, filed an action in the Superior Court of Kern County against Security Trust & Savings Bank, a corporation, and fictitious defendants, for the purpose of quieting title to certain land in that county. The summons in said action was served on the bank in the county of Los Angeles on May 6, 1926. The bank having failed to appear in the action its default was entered on June 7, 1926.
