GRAY, Circuit Judge.

The plaintiffs in error, hereinafter called the “defendants,” were the owners of a slate quarry near the town of Slatington, m Pennsylvania, and the defendant in error, hereinafter called “the plaintiff,” was employed by them as a laborer in said quarry. The plaintiff, a Syrian and a subject of the Sultan of Turkey, brought suit in the Circuit Court of the United State;; against the defendants for compensation for bodily injuries suffered by him while working in defendants’ quarries, and which he alleges were due to the negligence of the defendants.
