On the 18th of September, 1889, appellant filed his petition in trespass to try title, to recover of appellees 640 acres of land situated in Stephens County, Texas, and known as survey number 453, abstract number 195, patent number 86, volume 6, patented to the Southern Pacific Railway Company, June 19, 1862, and particularly described by field notes. As a link in his -chain of title, appellant offered in evidence a certified copy of a deed from the records of Bexar County, from the Southern Pacific Railway Company to Montraville J.
