MICHAEL, Circuit Judge:
Gregory E. Caphnger was tried and convicted in the Western District of North Carolina on six counts of wire fraud and two counts of international money laundering. Caphnger’s convictions and sentence arise out of his successful efforts to attract investment in a bogus scheme to market worldwide a drug that was supposed to be effective in treating HIV/AIDS and cancer.
