The defendant was convicted in the county court of Lenoir of having in possession liquor for the purpose of sale, and on appeal was again convicted by a jury in the Superior Court. It was in evidence for the State that in September, 1921, in consequence of information received, the four officers named were sent with a search warrant to the premises of the defendant, a colored man living out in *697the country. When they arrived, he was absent, and they read the search warrant to his wife, who was in charge of the premises during her husband’s absence, and who told them to go ahead and search.…
