JOPINSON, Judge.

The defendants have appealed from a judgment of $5,000.00 in favor of plaintiff.

The plaintiff suffered personal injuries when struck by an automobile owned and driven by defendant, Edward F. Duplessis, about 6:30 o’clock a. m., on March 11, 1959, while walking across the downtown side of Canal Street on Decatur Street in New Orleans. Decatur Street enters the downtown' side of Canal Street and becomes Magazine Street on the uptown side.
