A jury convicted Jefferson Davis, Jr., as charged for first degree rape, sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13, and indecent behavior with juveniles of a victim under the age of 13. The court imposed the mandatory sentence of life *1197imprisonment without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence on Davis for the first degree rape conviction. For the sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13, the court sentenced Davis to 30 years' imprisonment at hard labor, 25 years of which are required to be served without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.…
