Defendant was convicted of first degree murder following a bench trial and was sentenced to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. On appeal, defendant alleges that his conviction should be reversed for the following reasons: (1) the trial judge improperly admitted certain evidence and viewed all of the evidence in the light most favorable to the prosecution; (2) the trial judge erred in failing to consider whether there was a mitigating factor present which would reduce the offense to second degree murder; (3) the trial…
