Jesse Richardson was indicted for the crime of manslaughter, and was convicted, but on appeal the conviction and sentence were set aside and the case was remanded to the district court for a new trial. State v. Richardson, 175 La. 823, 144 So. 587. Thereafter, Richardson asked to be released on bail, and the district judge granted the release and fixed the amount of the bond at $500.
