Petitioner Thomas Morano, a state prisoner, brings this petition for habeas corpus relief against respondent Dennis Wolff, Warden of Illinois’ Joliet Correctional Center, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. 1 Petitioner was convicted in the Circuit Court of Cook County of attempted murder, and that conviction was affirmed on appeal. People v. Morano, 69 Ill.App.3d 580, 25 Ill.Dec. 940, 387 N.E.2d 816 (1979). Petitioner urges six claims in support of his petition, as to one of which he has not exhausted his available state remedies…
