This suit was brought by appellant against appellees to have an election held in the city of Galveston on. May 14, 1929, for the purpose of determining whether there should be levied a tax of 35 cents on each $100 valuation of the taxable property in the city in addition to the tax of 40 cents theretofore voted and levied for the support and maintenance of the public free schools of the city, declared illegal and void because of alleged irregularities in the manner of conducting the election and making returns thereof, and in the alternative to have a recount of the ballots, and the true…
