The appellee, Leslie Jean Odom, was indicted on a charge of unlawfully possessing a controlled substance. He entered a plea of not guilty and moved to suppress evidence of methamphetamine that had been found in his possession. After a hearing, the trial court granted the motion. The court found that Odom had purchased a number of items that were "precursors to the manufacture of methamphetamine" but that "[p]ossession of these objects alone is not illegal."
