By orders heretofore issued, the commissioner of markets revoked all permits in the Ninth Avenue Market. The commissioner’s ground for the issuance of these orders was the opening on December 22, 1937, of the new Lincoln Tunnel to New Jersey.

The market in question, officially known as “ Ninth Avenue Market,” and sometimes popularly referred to as “ Paddy’s Market,” is an open air market in the borough of Manhattan, on Ninth avenue, from Thirty-seventh street to Forty-second street, extending a distance of fifty feet east and west from Ninth avenue on Thirty-eighth, Thirty-ninth, Fortieth and…
