On October 2, 1933, the Columbia Gas and Electric Company, a Delaware corporation, with its principal office in New York, applied for and obtained a certificate of authority to transact in Pennsylvania the business of “production of oil, gas and electricity and holding of real estate.” Prom that date until October 31, 1935, it owned and operated in this State plants for the manufacture of gasoline and natural gas.
