¶ 1. On January 27, 1997, David Jones pled guilty to a charge of armed robbery. He was sentenced by the Circuit Court of Chickasaw County to a term of ten years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Thereafter, on February 18, 1998, Jones filed a motion for post-conviction relief asserting that his plea was involuntary because he was misinformed as to the maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
