Mary J. Thomas, a resident of Spokane county, died leaving an estate consisting of real and personal property which she disposed of by will. The pertinent part of the will provides:

"All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal and wheresoever situate, I give, devise and bequeath to The Hutton Settlement, a corporation organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Washington, and The Salvation Army of Spokane, in equal parts to each, said bequest to The Salvation Army of Spokane to be distributed by it to the different institutions working…
