After a bench trial, defendant was convicted of one count of possession of a controlled substance, and the trial court sentenced him to a prison term of five years. On appeal, defendant raises two issues. First, defendant claims that the trial court failed to admonish him concerning his waiver of counsel for his sentencing hearing. Second, defendant claims that the fines imposed by the trial court were improper. For the reasons set forth below, we reverse and remand for a new sentencing hearing; we order defendant’s fines…
