HINES, Justice.

Richard Anthony Gonnella appeals from the denial of his motion for new trial following his convictions for felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, in connection with the death of James Williams. For the reasons that follow, we reverse.

Construed to support the verdicts, the evidence showed that Christopher Eric Evans (“Evans”) drove Gonnella to the apartment of Williams, seeking to purchase marijuana.
