After a jury trial, defendant was convicted of murder in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, attempted robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for his conviction of murder in the first degree, to run concurrently with two 15-year prison terms for his convictions of attempted robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
