Defendant was convicted of first-degree murder, MCL 750.316; MSA 28.548, follow ing a jury trial. She was sentenced to serve a term of life in prison. Defendant appeals her conviction as of right.

Defendant’s conviction arose from the stabbing death of Willie Hammond, defendant’s live-in boy friend. The events occurred during the early morning hours of July 29, 1979. The record indicates that at approximately 5 a.m. on that date several of defendant’s neighbors awoke to the sound of defendant’s screams.
