Fleta Chapman, was tried and convicted under an indictment charging her with' the murder of William Chapman. After a verdict of guilty with a recommendation was returned, she made a motion for new trial, which was overruled.
During the progress of the trial counsel for the accused propounded questions- to three different witnesses, intended to elicit evidence to the effect that the deceased was a man of bad character, being turbulent and violent in disposition.
