Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Rensselaer County (Dwyer, Jr., J.), rendered July 31, 1985, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crime of robbery in the first degree.

On January 16, 1984, after consuming a considerable quantity of alcohol, defendant allegedly robbed at knife point a convenience food store in the Town of Sand Lake, Rensselaer County. Police investigation of the crime led them to a motel in Albany County where defendant and his two accomplices were temporarily residing.
