The appellant, Deborah Alexander Stegall, was involved in an automobile collision on June 17, 1984. It is undisputed that the automobile insurance policy issued by appellee to appellant expired on May 18, 1984. Appellant filed suit against appellee, seeking lost wages and medical benefits under the personal injury protection (PIP) coverage of the policy as well as bad faith penalties and attorney fees.
