PRITCHARD, Presiding Judge.

Appellant was convicted by the verdict of a jury of the salé of a controlled substance, hydromorphinone (dilaudid), and his punishment was assessed at eight years imprisonment which the court imposed in accordance with the verdict.

The facts are these: Detective Larry L. Sprouse was employed with the Kansas City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Kansas City Police Department, with duties of purchasing narcotics as an undercover agent in August, 1981.
