The appellant, Wade Cox, appeals the summary denial of his petition for post-conviction relief filed pursuant to Rule 32, Ala.R.Crim.P. The appellant was convicted of failing to purchase a business license to operate a salvage company. The appellant attempted to appeal to this court but the appeal was dismissed as untimely. The appellant then filed a petition for post-conviction relief, alleging, among other things, that his counsel's performance was ineffective because he did not timely file the notice of appeal with this court.
