The defendant was accused of the crime of sexual assault in the first degree in violation of § 53a-70 (a) (2)1 of the General Statutes and of the crime of robbery in the first degree *404in violation of § 53a-134 (a) (3)2 of the General Statutes. A jury found him guilty as charged on the first count and guilty on the second count of the lesser included offense of robbery in the third degree in violation of § 53a-136 (a)3 of the General Statutes. From the judgment rendered thereon, he has appealed.
