Respondent has appealed from an order of the district court modifying the original decree of dissolution to permit alternating annual shared custody by the parties to their 9-year-old son. We affirm as modified.

On July 23, 1980, a decree of dissolution was entered which granted custody of Brent Korf to the respondent. An application to modify that decree was filed by respondent on October 5, 1984, seeking permission to move with the minor child to Kansas, where respondent was to reside after her remarriage.
