The appeal in this case arises out of a complaint in chancery to establish and foreclose a mechanic’s lien. Prior to 21 August 1987, plaintiffappeHant ExceHent Builders, Inc. (hereinafter plaintiff) bid on a construction job for the construction of an office building on the southeast corner of Devon and Avers Avenues in Chicago. Plaintiff prepared its bid on the basis of plans and specifications prepared by defendantappellees’ architect. On 21 August 1967, plaintiff was awarded the contract.
