This action was brought for the purpose of determining the title and right of possession to a tract of land containing 200 acres, located in Orangeburg County, which is now wholly or in part in the possession of the defendants John, Henry Ayers and Maude I. Ayers.

The determination of the issues presented by this appeal depends upon the proper construction of Item 5 of the will of Francis G. Carn, who died about the year 1884, which item is as follows: “I give unto my grandson, Peter Frederick Shuler, Two hundred acres of land…
