The appellant, Maurice Jackson, was indicted and tried for the murder of his estranged wife, Olivia Shell, was convicted of murder as charged in the indictment, and was sentenced as a habitual offender with 10 prior felony convictions to imprisonment in the penitentiary for life without the possibility of parole.
