The question is whether the district court’s written judgment setting forth the defendant’s sentence contradicted the court’s oral pronouncement of the sentence or instead clarified it.

While in prison awaiting trial on thirty-some counts of rape and related offenses, Marc K. Weathers took steps to have the prosecutor, the rape victims and an informant murdered. See United States v.
