Introduction

This is an appeal from a judgment against Pleasant Glade Assembly of God church, two of its pastors, and several church members 1 based on a jury verdict in favor of a former church member, Laura Schubert, for assault and battery and false imprisonment. In ten issues, appellants assert they should not be held liable for Laura’s damages because they were acting in loco 'parentis and as Good Samaritans.
