Plaintiffs appellees, Daniel J. Hamilton and Edna Hamilton, hereinafter referred to as plaintiffs, brought suit in the city court of the city of East St. Louis, Illinois, against defendant appellant, Ollie Baugh, hereinafter referred to as defendant, seeking to recover for injuries alleged to have been sustained by them while occupying as tenants, on a month to month basis, under oral agreement, certain premises owned by the defendant situated in the city of East St. Louis, Illinois.
